Caves and rocksA cave or cavern is a hollow place in the ground, especially a natural underground space large enough for a human to enter. Caves form naturally by the weathering of rock and often extend deep underground. The word cave can also refer to much smaller openings such as sea caves, rock shelters, and grottos.Imali Rock Caves of Kaliro11kms from kaliro Town Council Imali cave is located in madibira village, Buyinda parish kaliro District. The rock is a flat-toped granite outcrop which contains a network of shelters and caves that are traditionally held sacred by the local people. It also provided them refuge against invaders especially during war time. The most accessible cave consists of one main chamber, known locally as “EDIRO” or conference room which is used for cultural meetings. Within the chambers lies a shrine where offerings are made to their gods,  It is also used by women and young girls to seek for marital blessings.
